Does everyone wear a mask?

Please describe social distancing.

Social distancing will be set at three feet between individuals in the classroom and lunchroom setting, to the greatest extent possible.

What does district transportation look like?

  • There is no longer a limited capacity on buses.

  • Passengers and drivers must wear a mask on any school district vehicle, per the CDC Order.

  • In the likelihood of a positive case and subsequent contact tracing, we will be assigning seating on our buses for accurate identification.

Will my child have to quarantine if they are identified as a close contact?

  • At this time, any asymptomatic, fully vaccinated individuals are not subject to quarantine following an exposure to a COVID-19 positive case.

  • Within the classroom setting, any student who is masked and is 3 foot socially distanced, will not be quarantined as long as all students within the 3 foot social distance area are correctly masked.

What happens if my child develops COVID?

  • Students who have a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 will be required to isolate at home for 10 days from the date of the positive test and until 24 hours fever free without fever-reducing medication.

  • These students will have access to a Quarantine Support Teacher.

Are there any COVID-19 testing opportunities at my child's school?

  • Similar to the spring, BinaxNOW COVID-19 testing will be used in SD129 schools.

  • The primary benefit is that early identification should reduce the spread of COVID-19.

What are the visitor requirements?

Visitors to any District 129 building will be required to certify they are symptom-free and wear a mask while in our buildings.

What about athletics?
